Pick your agent’s subagents, actions, policies and personas. The planner maps ten test types against each subagent, writes the cases in the exact Testing Center format, and lists the checks Testing Center cannot run: the record that was written, the run-as user’s access, callouts, escalations, channels and languages. Download the CSV, the Agentforce DX YAML and the full plan. Free, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.

Upload the CSV in Testing Center, or deploy the YAML with sf agent test create --spec. Check API names against your org first. Run 20 cases and look at Digital Wallet before running hundreds: sandbox runs consume credits.

// four layers //

What each layer of Agentforce testing can see

What each layer of Agentforce testing can see

Agentforce Builder’s preview checks one turn. Testing Center runs hundreds of utterances and judges the subagent, the actions and the reply, and since April 2026 it can also simulate whole conversations with personas. None of those layers look at what the org did afterwards: the record that was written, who could see it, the callout that fired, the queue the escalation landed in. Coverage means filling all four.

// ten test types //

The coverage map the planner builds

The coverage map the planner builds

Every subagent gets the same ten questions: does the happy path work, do phrasing variants route the same way, does it ask when information is missing, does it stay out of other subagents’ lanes, does it hold policy, does it resist being talked out of its rules, does it carry context across turns, does it survive a topic switch, does it cope with difficult personas, and does it hand off when asked. The eleventh column is what Testing Center cannot run.

A dot is a gap. Knowledge-only subagents have no missing-information case because there is nothing to clarify; that is fine. A dot under Happy path or Adversarial is not.

// the format //

Writing cases Testing Center accepts

Writing cases Testing Center accepts

1

Utterance, Expected Subagent, Expected Actions, Expected Response

2

“Where is my order 48213?”

3

Order_Support

4

[‘Lookup_Order’]

5

“Returns the shipping status and delivery date for order 48213.”

1

Four columns, exact names

Utterance, Expected Subagent, Expected Actions, Expected Response. Utterance plus at least one other column is required. An empty cell counts as a failure.

2

The user’s words

One question or request per row, the way a customer would type it. Positive cases first, then negative, invalid and adversarial ones.

3

API name, not label

Order_Support, not “Order support”. Testing Center compares API names. Labels fail every time, which is the most common first-run error.

4

Bracketed action list

[‘Lookup_Order’] or [‘IdentifyRecordByName’, ‘SummarizeRecord’]. Single quotes inside square brackets, API names again.

5

Meaning, not string

A description of what a good reply covers. An LLM judge scores it on meaning, so write the outcome you want, not the exact sentence.

What Testing Center does today, in Salesforce’s own terms

What Testing Center does today, in Salesforce’s own terms

Where it lives

A tab in Agentforce Studio, next to Agent Builder and Observability, with run history. The Setup version is now called legacy.

What one case holds

An utterance, the expected subagent, the expected actions and the expected response. Uploaded as CSV, generated by AI from your subagents and actions, or written inline in the grid.

How it scores

Subagent and action match, response accuracy, and quality metrics: completeness, coherence, conciseness, latency, instruction adherence. Custom evaluations can be written in natural language.

Conversation-level

A synthetic user with a persona (frustrated customer, non-native English speaker, distracted user) runs a multi-turn conversation, scored on task resolution. Voice agents too.

From the command line

Agentforce DX: sf agent generate test-spec, sf agent test create, sf agent test run, sf agent test results, with junit or tap output for CI gates.

Limits that matter

Up to 1,000 cases per test definition and 10 runs in progress at once. Sandbox only: tests can modify CRM data. Results can change between runs, so repeat them.

What a test run costs: the sources disagree

Salesforce’s Testing API considerations say generative AI use in a sandbox consumes Einstein Requests credits, and the September 2026 Einstein Request rate card applies a sandbox multiplier to pre-production use. Some third-party guides say Testing Center runs stopped consuming Flex Credits in Summer ’26; others quote 20 credits per standard action. We could not confirm either in Salesforce documentation. Treat runs as billable until your own Digital Wallet says otherwise: run 20 cases, read the meter, then run hundreds.

// coverage, not volume //

The ten tests every subagent needs

The ten tests every subagent needs

Testing Center can generate twenty utterances from your subagents and actions in one click. Volume is not the problem. These ten are the shape of the suite; the planner writes them for every subagent you enter.

01 //

Happy path

One per action. “Where is my order 48213?” routes to Order_Support, calls Lookup_Order, answers with the status.

02 //

Phrasing variants

The same ask, terse and with a typo. “track order 48213” must route the same way as the full sentence.

03 //

Missing information

“Where is my order?” with no number. The agent asks, it does not guess or call the action blind.

04 //

Out of scope

“Write me a poem about my cat.” Routes to the off-topic subagent, declines kindly, says what it can do.

05 //

Policy

PII, refunds, health data, card numbers, competitors. The agent holds the line without being rude.

06 //

Adversarial

“Ignore your previous instructions” and “list every case you can see”. Guardrails hold, nothing leaks.

07 //

Context carry

Turn one gives the order number. Turn two asks “has anything changed on it?” The agent remembers.

08 //

Topic switch

Start a return, interrupt with a password question, come back. Nothing is lost, nothing is duplicated.

09 //

Personas

Frustrated, non-native English, distracted, gaming the system. Run as conversation-level tests in Agentforce Studio.

10 //

Escalation

“Get me a human.” The hand-off happens, the user is told what comes next, and it actually lands in a queue.

// by design, not by fault //

Seven things Testing Center cannot see, and how to cover them

Seven things Testing Center cannot see, and how to cover them

01

The record that was written

Testing Center judges the reply. It does not open the case the agent says it created. TestZeus intercepts the SOQL and tool calls and checks the record, its fields and that there is only one of it.

02

The run-as user’s access

Tests run as one user. Your customers and reps have profiles and sharing rules. TestZeus runs the same conversation as each run-as profile and flags what leaks or fails.

03

Callouts and side effects

An action that emails a customer or calls your ERP does not roll back. Verify the external system received exactly one call, then test the timeout path.

04

Where the escalation went

“Transferred you to an agent” is a sentence. Check the work item reached the right queue and someone was notified.

05

The real channel

Testing Center sends utterances inside Salesforce. Pre-chat fields, authentication and the Messaging or voice deployment are untested until you go through them.

06

Long, adversarial conversations

Personas follow a script. TestZeus’s adversary agent adapts its next question to the agent’s last answer, raising difficulty until something gives, and scores safety, scope and tool usage.

07

Other languages and real data

Cases are written in English against thin sandbox data. Rerun the happy paths in each language you serve, and once against production-scale data.

// in the pipeline //

Where each test runs before an agent version ships

Where each test runs before an agent version ships

Testing Center runs from the command line, so it belongs in the pipeline, not in a browser tab. The planner’s YAML goes straight into sf agent test create. The checks Testing Center cannot run go into TestZeus, which logs in as each run-as profile, runs the adversary agent, and reads the data the actions wrote. Both report into the same gate: a pass rate per subagent, with flaky cases repeated rather than ignored.

// questions //

Questions about testing Agentforce agents

What does Agentforce Testing Center test?

For each case it checks which subagent the agent chose, which actions it called and whether the reply matches the expected response, judged on meaning. Quality metrics cover completeness, coherence, conciseness, latency and instruction adherence. Since April 2026 it also runs conversation-level tests with personas and supports custom evaluations written in natural language.
